Cristmas

Colton's first Christmas was technically last year, he was a week and a half old but this Christmas was the first her really got to participate. He loved the music at our church Christmas service, had fun opening his presents and playing with the boxes and wrapping paper, was so excited about seeing everyone and playing that he didn't want to miss anything and protested naps the past couple of days! Today we're back on schedule so far anyway. He is just such a joy and so much fun to watch him learn new things and explore. On Christmas day he began getting much more confident about his walking taking several steps at a time several times throughout the day. He looks so proud of himself when he does it and thinks it's great when everyone gets excited and cheers.

So I'm very behind on posting here. I've been putting updates of Colton on our totsite which if you don't have is http://www.totsites.com/tot/babygift.

My baby is a year old! It really is crazy how fast it goes. I tried to always be conscious of enjoying every minute with him, even the crazy ones and it still flew by. I'm sure I'm like most other mom's but I'm a little sad for the little baby days to be over but excited to watch all the new things he's learning and how much fun he is. He's been a pro at crawling and standing up walking along furniture for months and we really thought he'd be walking by now. He's so close, in the last couple of days we've seen a step in between reaching for things to hold onto. He loves cars and trucks and we're definitely stocked up after his birthday! He got so excited seeing them all. He loves music and dances whenever he hears any music. He still loves chasing the cats and says "Cat-cat" all the time as well as mama, dada, uh-oh. We haven't added any words in the last few weeks but now he points at what he wants or where he wants to go and says MA or grunts and points at things and waits for you to say what it is. He had fun digging in to his cake and loved the icing. We had a "small" party with family except Bobby's family is not small so it was a kind of big party but very fun and Colton wasn't sure what to do at first with all his favorite people in the same room. He did a great job of going to other people, opening presents and charming everyone. He's becoming more independent and does a great job of playing by himself or with mommy and daddy and the kids at daycare, but thankfully he still loves his snuggle time with mommy. I hope that doesn't change any time soon!
